Rafinha was in tears as he announced he will leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season, following his eight-year association with the German giants.

The 33-year-old completed a £5million move to the German Champions back in June 2011.

Rafinha will leave the club at the end of the season when his contract expires alongside fellow long-time servants Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery.

Liverpool target Timo Werner set for RB Leipzig exit

Outgoing RB Leipzig manager Ralf Rangnick revealed Timo Werner has "implied" that he will not sign a new contract amid reported interest from Liverpool.

Bayern Munich held a press conference on Tuesday to confirm Rafinha would not be extending his stay.

Rafinha said: “The eight years have been wonderful, I’ve had some great moments here. The treble in 2013 was special. All things come to an end eventually.

“We are together every day and know each other so well – we are a family. The friendship we all have is the greatest thing.’

Rafinha, who has won six Bundesliga titles during his time at Bayern Munich and could add two more trophies to his cabinet, previously hit out at manager Niko Kovac over his lack of playing time.

He said back in February: “I do my work and train well, but the coach does not count on me.

“I do not know why. I have not made any problems. But of course, I am disappointed.”
