Axel Witsel looks reportedly set to complete a return to Europan football this summer with Borussia Dortmund and will soon complete a medical, claims Belgian media outlet RTBF
The Belgium international has spent the past 18 months in China with Tianjin Quanjian following his move from Russian side Zenit Saint Petersburg in January 2017.
But now a return to Europe appears to becoming increasingly closer to being finalised with Witsel having been linked with a move to Bundesliga giants Dortmund for the past week after his impressive displays for Belgium at the World Cup, that saw the Red Devils record a best finish of third place in the tournament.
And now the 29-year-old has attracted interest from clubs all over Europe with Paris Saint-Germain also having been linked with a move for Witsel.
However, it appears that Dortmund have won the race for Witsel’s signature and the midfielder is set to end his summer holiday shortly to complete his move to Germany.
Witsel played in six of Belgium’s World Cup games at Russia.
