Benitez calls for business as usual amid club sale talks

Newcastle United manager Rafael Benitez has called for “business as usual” after owner Mike Ashley revealed that sale talks are ongoing.

Club owner Mike Ashley on Monday told Sky News he wants to sell next month’s transfer window, but Benitez says he is focused only on their Wednesday’s game at Everton.

“We have been in this position in the past. We have to carry on. We have an important game to play and we have to focus on that,” Benitez told Sky Sports.

“I was talking today with Lee Charnley and the message is very clear – it is business as usual.

Lampard: “Chelsea are moving in the right direction”

Frank Lampard was a proud manager after Chelsea's 1-0 win over Newcastle United moved them into the Premier League top-four.

“We have had this before and we have to concentrate on the game. For us, it is really business as usual.”

Benitez revealed that the club will be busy in the January transfer window.

“We have been working about that. We will continue working with the same idea,” the Spaniard said.

“For us, it doesn’t change anything. We have to look for our targets and just be ready for January 1.”
