After helping Real Madrid return to winning ways with a 4-1 win against Real Valladolid on Sunday night, Karim Benzema has urged fans to show more respect and support.

The Spanish giants went through the most difficult moment of their campaign in the last 10 days after crashing out of the Champions League and Copa del Rey.

However, the former Lyon striker feels their success in recent years should not be forgotten in a hurry.

“It has been difficult [recently], but football is like that and we have to work and continue trying to win the 11 games we have left [in LaLiga Santander, he told Marca.

“We must try to enjoy our football, which is the most important thing, and always have to win because we want people to be with us more.

“I don’t mean only the fans but the journalists, too. When I talk about people, I mean everyone.

“I’m not saying that the media have to be with us, but we shouldn’t forget that we have won many things and that is important.

“It is a difficult thing to do because every year the opposition gets tougher.

PSG insists Mbappe is going nowhere

Paris Saint-Germain has confirmed that Kylian Mbappe will continue playing for the French champions next season. Mbappe, 20, recently disclosed he was coy about his future at...

“I’m only saying this because we have won a lot in recent years but when we lost to Ajax it seemed that Madrid never won anything.”

Benzema equally hinted he wants Solari to retain the job until the end of the season amid rumours of a likely sack.

“The dressing room is very close and I hope that Solari is here until the end of the season, but that is a club issue and I don’t want to discuss it,” Benzema continued.

“We’re with Solari. If a squad wasn’t with their coach, then they wouldn’t have played a game like we did today.”Why change now? We have 11 games left and we hope he will stay with us.”
