Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva has welcomed the big number of games they will be playing in over the course of the next month

Pep Guardiola’s side will play 13 times over the next six weeks in the Premier League, Champions League and the Carabao Cup.

Unlike many other European leagues (like La Liga and Bundesliga), the Premier League normally holds a hectic festive fixture with players getting little rest.

But Portugal star Silva, who played for AS Monaco before joining City in 2017, is relishing it.

“It’s a little bit different because both countries where I played before, Portugal and France, we had a Christmas break,” said Silva, according to Fox Sports.

“Here you don’t stop so it’s a little bit complicated. But it’s good to play every three days.

Hasselbaink: Chelsea need Hazard to stay more than ever now

Former Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink believes it's critical now the club convince Eden Hazard to commit his long-term future.

“We complain a little bit but it’s good because we love this game and we love to play. And it’s a tradition in England so we have to respect it.”

The 24-year-old believes City’s 2-1 win at Watford on Tuesday proves they are up to the challenge of their busy schedule.

For the game at Vicarage Road, Guardiola made several changes to the starting line-up and yet City still went away with all three points.

“It says the squad is very strong and that’s very important for us especially in December and January which are very tough months with a lot of fixtures and a lot of difficult games,” said Silva.

“So it’s good to change players and not see the difference and to still get important wins like [against Watford]. We’re very happy with the squad we have.”

City will next face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge this Saturday in the Premier League.
