The Brazilian has been a huge success for Manchester City and Bernardo Silva has hailed Ederson for his unique football qualities.

Ederson has been a huge success at Manchester City alongside Bernardo Silva. The duo helped the Citizens to yet another Premier League title. Pep Guardiola’s team were on a roll last season and would be looking for more of the same next season.

While Champions League success has eluded Bernardo Silva and co., the Portugal international has been impressed by the displays of Ederson. The former Monaco man calls the Brazilian a defensive midfield player due to his ability to pass the ball around.

When asked by Sporf as reported by the Daily Mail, Silv was asked if Ederson could play outfield. The Portugal international replied: ‘I agree. He could play outfield maybe with the ball as a defensive or holding midfield player.’

Since signing for the English giants, Ederson has been a crucial presence between the sticks. Consistent displays has earned him a reputation of being one of the best shot stoppers in the game.

Bernardo Silva on his part, has already shown that he is a great player in the making. The creative midfielder was once seen as an understudy to David Silva. However, with the Spaniard nearing the twilight years of his career, Bernardo Silva is set to become the club’s next creative weapon. Indeed, Kevin de Bruyne’s injury problems last season weren’t a hindrance because of Silva’s consistency.

As of now, Manchester City are yet to make a huge splash in the transfer window. The creative side of things are pretty much taken care of. But there is a need to add a couple of midfielders. With Fernandinho crossing his 30s and Ilkay Gundogan not signing a contract extension so far, the Citizens might need someone at the base of midfield.

And the club has been linked with Rodrigo of Atletico Madrid who is also keen on testing the English Premier League.
