The Brilliant Manchester City playmaker Bernardo Silva opened up about his future, revealing his wishes for his next club.
In a historical Manchester City season, the team won the league with 98 points. They also reached quarter-finals of the and defended the League Cup title.
Silva earned multiple rewards and recognitions as fans lauded him to be the best player in the team.
This season, however, Manchester City started off shaky. The draw against Tottenham and a loss to Norwich saw “The Citizens” trail five points behind their biggest title challengers – Liverpool.
In his interview with Daily Mail, Silva talked about his plans for the future:
“I would like to go back to Benfica one day. There is a gap to fill.
“I was a young kid who had a dream of playing for his home club and not being able to fulfill that dream was hard. But I had to make some decisions and I don’t regret it at all.”
It’s well-known that Bernardo Silva is a big Benfica fan. This isn’t the first occasion in which the Portuguese talked about eventually returning to his dream club one day.
As for Bernardo’s constant comparisons with his Spanish teammate, David Silva, Bernardo said:
“David and I sometimes play in the same position and have the same style but I think it’s unfair on David to be compared to me because he has played at a huge level for 15 years and I am just starting.
“The team will go on. Yaya left, Vinny last season, Kun [Aguero] one day will go.
“Players will try to replace them, knowing that it’s difficult because they are some of the best players to ever play at this club. But one day if they want me to try to fill David’s shoes, I will try my best to do it.”
Bernardo Silva is among the best players in the world, and he’ll try to cement his status this season.
