Terms between Besiktas and Liverpool over the transfer were agreed on Monday.
Karius is expected to join Besiktas on an initial two-year loan deal for £2.25m, which will see Besiktas have to pay a further £7.25m should their performance criteria aims be satisfied.
Liverpool will also have a 20% sell-on clause included as part of the deal.
Karius made a total of 49 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions, but his two harmful errors in last season’s Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid ultimately cost him his spot in the team with Allison Becker from AS Roma having since arrived to take over.
