The current Bayern Munich chairman excelled as a player himself from the 70s to 80s, where he scored 45 goals in 95 appearances for West Germany.

The 64-year-old won the European championship in 1980, but lost two World Cup finals. However, Rummenigge was renown for his natural leadership skills and was impossible to beat in the air.

He also won back-to-back Ballon d’Or awards between 1980 and 1981.
