GK: Oliver Kahn
The undisputed first-choice goalkeeper in this prestigious line-up is Oliver Kahn, aka “The Titan”.
The ice-cool Bayern Munich legend never bowed down to pressure, and became widely renown for his agility and reflexes in goal. Unfortunately, though, he didn’t manage to win a deserved World Cup in his career.
Kahn came close on two occasions, with the 2002 final defeat to Brazil being his closest chance. A torn ligament in his right ring finger, however, prevented him from saving Rivaldo and Ronaldo Nazario’s goals.
Nevertheless, the goalkeeper did pip Ronaldo to the Golden Ball award and kept five clean sheets.
Kahn didn’t though retire from international football empty-handed having won Euro 1996 with Germany.
