Wayne Rooney joined Manchester United in a £25.6 million deal from his boyhood club Everton at the age of 18 years, back in 2004.

He went on to win five Premier League titles, the FA Cup and the Champions League in his 13-year spell at Old Trafford. Rooney netted 253 goals in 559 appearances for the Red Devils, beating Sir Bobby Charlton’s record as the Manchester United all-time top goalscorer.
