Lautaro Martinez has been linked with a move to Barcelona but his agent has rubbished transfer speculation as hearsay in the media.

Mauro Icardi’s departure saw Lautaro Martinez forge a prolific partnership with Romelu Lukaku. The duo scored goals with ease and took Inter Milan to touching distance of the Serie A title.

In the end, Antonio Conte’s men were just a point off eventual champions Juventus. Lukaku was their spearhead while Martinez proved his worth as a worthy partner.

His performances in the Champions League and Serie A caught the admiration of Barcelona. The Catalans want to link him with Lionel Messi and the rumor mill has pegged him on his way to Camp Nou.

However, his agent, Carlos Beto Yaque has quashed any transfer speculation regarding his client. Beto stated that Lautaro still has three years on his contract and is happy at San Siro.

“Lautaro’s transfer is more in the media than real life,” Beto was quoted by Football Italia.

“Lautaro has three years on his contract with Inter and is very happy where he is. He’s had a very good season, still has the Europa League to play for and I hope Inter can go all the way in that competition.”

Beto added that he is not pushing for Lautaro’s transfer as the forward is his own man.

“I’ve never needed to give him advice and I don’t need to know either. He’s always been a complete player and has matured over the years.”

Martinez scored 14 Serie A goals this season, whilst also hitting the back of the net five times in UEFA competitions.
