Peter Crouch brands Mo Salah as selfish and bizarrely claims that he will be unhappy at the result from the Merseyside.
Liverpool put on a masterclass in the Merseyside Derby thrashing of Everton, 5-2.
What is quite remarkable, is that Jurgen Klopp did not even start two of his first-choice strikers in Roberto Firmino and Mo Salah.
The result has been heralded across the footballing world as a definitive statement of Liverpool’s credentials to finally lift another league title.
Thus, it has also left the red side of Merseyside in a state of elation, as they feel this may finally be their year.
However, according to former Liverpool frontman Peter Crouch, there is one person on that red side that will not be happy at all.
In a bizarre rant, Crouch told Amazon Prime, Salah’s selfish side will mean he is quite unhappy.
“I think he [Salah] will be fuming to be on the bench.”
“He will want to be part of that team – he has aspirations for the Golden Boot, we know what he’s like.”
“He has gone from a winger to a selfish striker.”
“He won’t be sat on the bench enjoying that performance.”
“He’ll have been sat there thinking he could have got two or three goals.”
“If there’s one man who is probably walking away not so pleased, it’s probably him.”
Much was made about Jurgen Klopp’s decision to rest key players before the game.
Klopp and his Liverpool team are about to embark on a campaign to fight on five fronts; the league and both cups domestically, the Champions League and soon the Club World Cup.
The German tactician will have half an eye on all the up and coming games, and not Salah’s hunt for personal accolades.
Given Everton’s poor form, was he really underestimating them or just being realistic?
