Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has told defenders Daley Blind and Matteo Darmian that they are free to leave in the summer, claims The Times
Both players have fallen completely out of favour at Old Trafford and have now been told that they no longer have a future at the club.
Darmian has been keen on a return to Italy for some time now and is believed to be negotiating a deal with Juventus for a move at the end of the season after three difficult years at United.
While Blind had talks with AS Roma in the January transfer window break down and to the Dutchman’s dismay United triggered their clause in his contract to extend his deal to a further 12 months back in March, which means that he will be unable to leave as a free agent in the summer and will, therefore, have his options restricted due to a fee that the Red Devils will undoubtedly be asking for in return for his departure.
Between both Darmian and Blind, they have only started six Premier League games between them this season with the latter having only made three appearances for United in 2018 after his failed move to Roma.
