Donnarumma is not likely to be sold by Milan this summer according to Zvonimir Boban as the youngster continues to be linked with PSG.
Zvonimir Boban is confident that Gianluigi Donnarumma is going to stay at Milan for many years. The young Italian is attracting a lot of interest from Paris Saint-Germain.
However, Milan are not eager to allow their star player to leave and have plans to keep him at the club.
Although he has never had the greatest of relations with the club’s fans, Donnarumma has also never given any indication of his desire to leave San Siro. And Boban says that as long as the player doesn’t want to leave, he would never be sold.
“[Paolo] Maldini said that we are happy to have probably the best goalkeeper in the world, surely the best talent in the world in that role,” Boban told CalcioMercato on Tuesday.
“For the moment, he remains. He can change, but it is not said that he will leave.”
And the youngster is likely to play under new boss Marco Giampaoli next season who Boban feels is going to be a success.
“He is one of the few coaches that makes you clearly understand how he wants to play, in every situation,” he said.
He continued: “Giampaolo will find the right path, with the players but also with the game.”
Milan missed out of a Champions League spot on the last day of the season by a single point. However, it is clear that the club is looking to mount a strong charge on a top four finish next season.
Currently in a transition period and boasting a very young squad, Milan are going to face a testing time in the Serie A next season. With the likes of Inter, Juventus and Napoli strengthening the squad, Boban would be hoping that his star keeper stays.
