AC Milan chief Zvonimir Boban admits he hopes to be “further ahead” in the current Italian Lega Serie A campaign, asking fans to be patient.
After three weeks, AC Milan sits in the seventh position of the Italian Lega Serie A with six points.
The team has only won twice, losing once this 2019-2020 campaign.
“It was a crazy transfer window, with a thousand agents who wanted to explain football to us,” Rossoneri chief Zvonimir Boban told reporters according to Football Italia.
“Among a thousand things, I realized that Donnarumma was our man in the dressing room.”
“He has so much passion, so much ‘milanismo’, despite being so young. He carries a lot of influence,” he added.
“We’ve picked up the points we have. We hoped to be further ahead, but it’s a process, a new beginning.”
He commented: “Inter will also improve over time. The Nerazzurri are a bit more backed than us, even if it’ll be an open game, 50-50.”
“You have to keep the emotions of a derby in check. Even I paid the price for that. There’s more to a derby than other matches.”
“It takes a bit of time to combine new players, although good players understand each other quickly,” he commented.
“Sometimes, after just two training sessions, you feel you’re in tune with some players. Inter are a true 3-5-2 team.”
