The Argentine giants are keen on bringing Daniele De Rossi to the Bombonera despite reports linking the veteran with a move to the MLS.
Boca Juniors sporting director, Nicolas Burdisso is confident of the chances of landing Daniele De Rossi this summer. Reports suggest that the former Italy international may have already signed for a franchise in the MLS.
Despite of that, Burdisso is sure that his former teammate will come to Argentina. While speaking to Closs Continental, as reported by Football Italia, the former midfielder said that De Rossi watches Boca Juniors’ matches a lot.
“A lot’s been said about De Rossi, I know him and he’s opened his doors to coming here,” he told Closs Continental.
“[Him coming] would be the icing on the cake. I think Daniele can play for Boca. I know him well, I was with him for five years.
“He rates the team highly and watches all our games. There are things here that can’t be found in China and MLS, like the passion of the fans.”
Although he is nearing the end of his career, Daniele De Rossi is a man who would be a valuable addition to any team. Roma chose not to renew his contract which was quite a surprise. The Italian club has come in for a lot of criticism because of this.
However, the Lupi’s loss could be another club’s gain. The Italian brings tons of experience to the table and would be a great presence to have in the dressing room.
Boca Juniors will definitely want him onboard but MLS outfit, LAFC are also in the race. Reports claim that De Rossi might accept their offer. However, there is a chance that the player could choose to sign for a team where the passion of the fans for their beloved Boca is second to none.
