Amidst strong interest from Chelsea, Bayer Leverkusen boss Peter Bosz insists Kai Havertz remains fully committed to the German giants.
Kai Havertz is still a Leverkusen player and will give his best to the club while he remains on their books.
After completing the signings of Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner, the German is the next on the Blues’ priority list.
In the past few weeks, Chelsea have been strongly linked with Havertz and there is a growing thought he could end up at Stamford Bridge.
Reports claim Leverkusen are holding out for €100m although Chelsea feel optimistic about securing the deal for around €80m.
Regardless of speculation from all over, Leverkusen boss Bosz is confident the 21-year-old will still give his best for the club.
“I will answer these questions [about Havertz] very shortly,” Bosz said via Goal ahead of his side’s Europa League clash with Rangers on Thursday.
“Yes, he will play and yes I’m convinced he’s 100 per cent still fighting for Leverkusen.”
“We can only win the tournament if we win against Rangers. It doesn’t make any sense to dream ahead to the upcoming matches,” he added.
“I’ve tried to convey this to the players that they see it that way.
“We want to progress. If I need players tomorrow who may be at risk of being suspended, they will still play. Our focus is only on progressing.”
The Blues will continue to step up their efforts to sign Havertz over the coming weeks.
