Former AC Milan player Ariedo Braida has backed Juventus to eliminate Atletico Madrid in their Champions League last-16 tie suggesting “Miracles do happen…”

The Bianconeri must overturn a 2-0 deficit against Atleti to stand a chance of progressing to reach the quarter-finals.

And the current Barcelona’s international football consultant – believes Allegri’s men have the quality and home advantage to turn the tie around.

“Ronaldo’s exit from La Liga? CR7 was an incredible leading light in the Spanish League,” he said in a quote cited on Football Italia.

“He’s certainly missed by La Liga and Real.

“How do I see Atletico? I think they’re the only team with Italian style in Spain.

“They’re rocky, tough, a difficult team to beat. I think tough is the most suitable adjective for them.

“Still, Juventus can do it. In Spain, they talk about ‘remontada’. The Bianconeri can do it, even if it’ll be very tough. Miracles do happen.”

“How will the game pan out? I don’t know. I hope it’ll be a beautiful game, an ode to football.”

Braida hinted that football fans in the modern era are more of the “Oliver Twist” when asked about Allegri’s position.

“Allegri challenged by the fans? The fans are never satisfied. That’s the story of modern football.

“If you win a Champions League one year but don’t the following year, they go against you.”
