Barcelona’s newest signing Martin Braithwaite has insisted Messi does things nobody can do and if football were a religion, the Argentine would be a god.
Braithwaite continues to be marveled by Messi’s brilliance..saying he would be a football good if the sport was a religion.
The Danish international is still adjusting to life at Camp Nou after his suprise €18 million move from Leganes last week.
Barca were granted permission to sign Braithwaite outside of the transfer window after Dembele’s injury and have received criticism since.
The club were also criticized about the fact that the 31–year-old was relatively inexperienced but he still put on a good debut for Barcelona.
Braithwaite contributed to two goals, including linking up with Messi and has since praised the 32-year-old continously.
The ex-Leganes star insisted he would not wash his clothes after receiving Messi’s hugs during the contest.
And ahead of his first El Clasico, he has now heaped more praise on the Barcelona captain.
“Nobody can do things he does,” Braithwaite told Barca’s official website. “If football were a religion, Messi might be God.
“He controls the match. He is an extraordinary player.”
The Argentine is in good form at the moment and would be relishing a good El Clasico challenge on Sunday in what could be a high-octane clash.
