Ousmane Dembele is set to be sidelined for more than three months following his injury.
Barcelona beat Borussia Dortmund 3-1 at the Camp Nou. All the front three of Messi, Suarez, and Griezmann got on the scoresheet to secure the top spot in the group.
But Antoine Griezmann’s goal probably came at a cost. Ousmane Dembele, who started the match, was carried off the field after suffering a problem in his thigh.
Recently, Barcelona’s official website released updates on the Frenchman’s injury. According to the update, Ousmane Dembele has undergone a muscle injury in his hamstring. As a result, he will be out for at least 10 weeks.
“A medical examination has confirmed that first-team player Ousmane Dembélé has suffered a muscle injury to the biceps femoris of his right hamstring. His estimated layoff time is approximately 10 weeks,” the statement on the website reads.
Dembele’s injury will keep him out for the match against Atletico Madrid. While the forward will also miss Barca’s trip to Italy to face Inter Milan. Additionally, the number-11 will also be out for Barcelona’s super cup match against Atletico.
In nine games across all competitions this season, Ousmane Dembele has scored just one goal.
