BREAKING: FIFA extends Mino Raiola’s ban worldwide

After getting banned by the Italian FA earlier this week, FIFA has extended Mino Raiola’s ban to a global scale for the next three months.

Players’ agent Mino Raiola has been banned from any transfer activity for the next three months on a global scale by FIFA.

A report from Sky Sports details how the Italian agent was initially banned only by the Italian FA but FIFA confirmed that his ban extends throughout the whole world.

This is a huge blow for infamous Mino Raiola because he currently holds the contracts of key players who were expected to rattle the summer transfer window.

Names such as Paul Pogba, Matthijs de Ligt, Hirving Lozano, Marco Verratti, Blaise Matuidi, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and Mario Balotelli are among the names that Raiola represents.

In some cases such as Zlatan or Balotelli, the agent doesn’t have a problem because these players are currently well-established in their respective clubs.

However, the situation just got a lot more complicated for names such as Paul Pogba or Matthijs de Ligt.

Both of these players were expected to make a move to other clubs during the summer, but this ban puts them in a very difficult situation that could compromise their future.

Matthijs de Ligt’s situation.

Let’s begin with the whole Matthijs de Ligt transfer, he is one of the most coveted players on the market right now and he is going to leave Ajax this summer.

This ban to Raiola complicates the whole negotiation that was taking place between the agent and several clubs that were after him.

De Ligt was finding it very difficult to get a proper offer from the club he wanted already due to Raiola’s involvement in the negotiation.

This new turn in the tide may be beneficial for the Dutch defender because he is now free to talk with any club he wants with no intermediaries who can compromise his transfer.

We already knew that FC Barcelona wanted to sign the player but they completely opposed Mino Raiola’s involvement.

The agent was trying to get as much money as he could from the highest bidder by making several clubs believe his player was going to sign a new contract with them.

This practice was seen as disloyal by some of these clubs and they started to dislike the way that the agent was negotiating.

Matthijs de Ligt, Netherlands, Ronald Koeman, Juventus

Koeman: Matthijs de Ligt must alter his game at Juventus

Netherlands boss Ronald Koeman conceded that the under-fire Matthijs de Ligt must make some changes if he's to become a success-story at Juventus.

The clubs that Raiola tried to offer De Ligt to were Juventus, Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Manchester City, Real Madrid, and FC Barcelona.

Things backfired miserably for Raiola thanks to this situation with De Ligt.

Paul Pogba’s situation is less critical.

The situation between Mino Riola and Paul Pogba is slightly less critical because both men share a healthy friendship with each other.

The Manchester United midfielder will always feel in Raiola’s debt because he basically made him a millionaire when he got transferred from Juventus to Manchester United.

This ban on his agent may complicate his transfer to Real Madrid but Paul Pogba doesn’t mind waiting for this sanction to get lifted.

Even if the player doesn’t go to Los Blancos this summer, he knows that Mino Raiola will do everything in his power to complete the deal as soon as he can negotiate again.

The problem with this is Real Madrid, Los Blancos don’t like Mino Riola either and they will try to negotiate with the player directly after knowing about this ban.

Florentino Perez has repeatedly ended negotiations with many players because Mino Raiola is somehow always involved.

This agent has his hands completely tied and all the clubs in Europe are rejoicing because at least they won’t have to deal with him for three months.

FIFA offered further details about the ban, which is related to alleged irregularities in the deal that took 16-year old Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca to Dutch side PEC Zwolle last summer.
