The Eintracht Frankfurt wonderkid has signed a six-year contract with Los Merengues after they paid around €60 million for his services.
21-year-old Luka Jovic has had a successful career since he debuted professionally in 2014.
That year he played for the first time for Red Star Belgrade in his native Serbia.
In 2016 he moved to Benfica in Portugal and was loaned in 2017 to German Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt.
He impressed the German so much, they bought him in January of this year.
But his great performances meant he was under Europe’s big clubs rada, and today it was announced he will join Real Madrid in the Spanish La Liga.
“Luka is a big loss for us,” Frankfurt director Fredi Bobic said.
“The word has spread in Europe about his explosiveness and his goal-scoring instinct.”
“We’ve benefited not only from his goals over the past two years,” he added.
“But for us, it was clear that there is a financial pain threshold.”
“For Eintracht Frankfurt, this is a good and important transfer,” he continued.
“We wish Luka only the best for his future. He has what it takes to have a great career.”
The director concluded: “And we are proud that we were able to support him along the way. ”
Jovic will join Real Madrid for a reportedly €60 million fee for his services.
