Gerard Pique’s yellow card against Slavia Prague means he will miss the next Champions League game for Barcelona against Borussia Dortmund game.
Gerard Pique’s 111th Champions League game for Barcelona is not going quite to plan.
Barcelona defender Pique has picked up a 14th-minute yellow card.
The Spaniard apparently saw the need to give a tug on Slavia left-winger Olayinka.
The referee deemed it a bookable offense.
Pique was the first to go in the referee’s book.
He now has to tread carefully for the next 75 minutes of the game, as any other infringement could see him red-carded.
Barcelona now has a bigger issue though.
Their next Champions League game is a visit to the Camp Nou by Borussia Dortmund.
Having received another yet another yellow card, his third of the group stages, he is now suspended for the next game.
Manager Ernesto Valverde thought defensively he had nothing to worry about.
Think again Valverde think again.
