Ligue 1 fixture Paris Saint-Germain vs Monaco has been canceled due to heavy rain.
Paris Saint-Germain were to play their rivals AS Monaco later today at 21:00 CET. But due to rains and flood in the Alpes-Maritimes area in France, the match has been postponed for a future date.
PSG are at the top of the table with 33 points. The French champions have won eleven of their fourteen matches in Ligue 1 this season. Monaco, on the other hand, are going through a slump. They are in the 14th place in the league table and are only three points short of reaching the relegation zone.
PSG also announced the news through their website. The website also mentioned that the club will take necessary actions to compensate for the tickets.
“Due to the extreme weather conditions in the Alpes-Maritimes region, the authorities in the principality have decided to call off Sunday’s Ligue 1 game,” PSG’s statement read.
“Some 1,000 Parisian fans were expected to attend the game tonight. The club will contact them by email to discuss the steps to follow regarding either the exchange of tickets or reimbursement.”
