According to a report from Diario AS, Real Madrid has finally closed a €60 million deal with Eintracht Frankfurt for Serbian striker Luka Jovic.

Looks like Zinedine Zidane’s new Real Madrid project is starting to take shape, they just reportedly closed the deal for striker Luka Jovic.

The Eintracht Frankfurt striker has been one of the most coveted players in European football this season, FC Barcelona was heavily after him this season.

However, the Serbian striker was more keen on playing under Zinedine Zidane and his agent finally closed the deal today for €60 million.

Diario AS reports that the negotiation for the player took a wild turn on April 17, which is when Eintracht Frankfurt bought him to Benfica for €8 million.

After this happened, the German club was finally able to negotiate with Los Blancos and that’s when everything sped up.

The final deal closed in €48 million for the German club and €12 million for the Portuguese squad that had 20% secured for them when he moved to a new club.

Luka Jovic is currently 21 years of age and he will report with Zinedine Zidane as soon as the current season ends in European football.

This is a player who comes to compete with Karim Benzema for a spot up front, but he also comes to play alongside him if possible.

Florentino Perez sticks to his transfer politics.

Jovic’s arrival comes as no surprise for anybody who has been analyzing president Florentino Perez’s behavior over the last five years.

The chairman moved as far as possible from the old transfer politics he had of signing the most expensive players that the market had to offer.

The last player for whom he paid an important amount of cash was Gareth Bale (€101 million), he has kept it in his pockets ever since.

Perez prefers to bet for young talents who are not as expensive but have an important room for improvement and a bright future ahead.

Jovic certainly fits this profile as he is considered one of the most important strikers in European football this season.

This player’s age is what attracted Real Madrid the most. Jovic’s skills for a 21-year-old are considered way above average as he proved it so far this season in the Bundesliga.
