Frank Lampard’s first season at the helm of Chelsea resulted in fourth place in Premier League but they were losing finalists in FA Cup final.

Maurizio Sarri has been relieved of his duties by Juventus but his replacement at Chelsea is going strong. Frank Lampard took control of the club without Eden Hazard and were fighting a transfer ban.

The Blues legend made good is his first year at the helm. Lampard promoted youngsters, finished fourth in Premier League and made it to the FA Cup final.

The club’s hierarchy is pleased with the job done by Lampard, with chairman Bruce Buck praising him for the job done. However, Buck did add that some silverware to show for the season would have been icing on the cake.

“In the round we think it was a very successful season,” Mirror quoted Bruce Buck. “I think obviously we would have been a little bit happier if we had won the FA Cup.

“But I’m sure the manager and the players were gutted not to lift the trophy.”

“Frank Lampard is a very positive force for Chelsea,” Buck commented.

“He’s Chelsea through and through and that continues to show through.

“He carries a lot of credibility. It’s an exciting time for Chelsea.”
