Gianluigi Buffon would have no problem with his Juventus side playing Real Madrid, in fact, the goalkeeper says “it’s always a pleasure to play them.”
As we await the draw for the last 16 of the Champions League, there are some interesting permutations as to who could play who.
Perhaps the most interesting of all is the possibility of Juventus and Real Madrid being matched up.
Real finished second in Group A, and are therefore in the unseeded pot of teams in the draw.
That means they can play any of the other group winners.
That is except for a Spanish side or PSG, who were in Group A with Real.
Now veteran goalkeeper Buffon suggests in an interview with Tuttosport he is thrilled with the idea of such a match.
“It’s always a pleasure meeting Real Madrid.”
“The respect I have for their history and their players is huge.”
“Despite how it ended last time in Madrid.”
“I look back at that game with a positive mindset. It was an example of determination and strength.”
“So, in that case, two fantastic teams would meet again.”
