Buffon speaks ahead of Lyon clash

Paris Saint-Germain will put its perfect run to test when they play against Lyon tomorrow night in the French Ligue 1.

Paris Saint-Germain is currently in the first position of the French Ligue 1 table.

The team is the only club in the league that has yet to lose a single game.

And now they are putting that perfect run to test, as they face third-place Lyon tomorrow.

“When we played them in the first half of the season, they really impressed me. The heavy defeat wasn’t completely indicative,” PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon said to the club’s official website.

“They had played a great match, with a lot of individual and collective quality.”

“In the UEFA Champions League group stage, they were unbeaten and managed to win in Manchester, so we have a lot of respect for them,” he added.

“I think Alphonse [Areola] is already one of the best ‘keepers.”

“I want to bring him a bit of my experience to help him approach each situation as best as possible. It’s important for me, for Alphonse’s progress and that of the team as well,” he explained.

“For me, having the respect and regard of my teammates is more important than playing in a match.”

Rumour: PSG ready Donnarumma bid

PSG are ready to make a bid for goalkeeper Gianluigi  Donnarumma. According to Italian football new outlet Calciomercato.com, PSG is about to make an offer...

“I think it’s important for them to see a 41-year-old player who trains with a lot of enthusiasm. I hope that what I do can help them to keep progressing,” he commented.

“If Alphonse stays here, I will stay for an extra season.”

“But the most important thing is to concentrate on the matches against Lyon, Bordeaux, Manchester… We still have plenty of time to think about my contract,” Buffon concluded.

PSG has won 18 of their 20 matches so far in the 2018-2019 season.

They have drawn twice and have yet to lose.

The team is a goal-scoring machine with 66 goals scored and 11 against.
