Jonas Hector has been loyal to Cologne even after the team got demoted to the second tier level in the German football structure
Not many footballers can say they play in the second division of their country and they get called to the national team.
But super loyal Jonas Hector has been called up for Germany for their next two matches, even after starting the 2018-2019 season in the Bundesliga 2.
The second tier level of the German football has welcome Cologne and Hector has remained loyal to his team.
“Jonas has got a lot of depth, he really understands the game,” Löw said last March according to the Bundesliga website.
“He defends, attacks and passes well. He also knows when to sit back and get stuck in, and when to go forward. Above all, he’s reliable and has a cool head. We’ve even thought about playing him in central midfield.”
“I’ve never met a guy like him before, neither as a player and nor as a coach,” former Cologne boss Peter Stöger said of Hector.
“He’s developed into a top-class player. You can see how he has grown in confidence. He’s matured on and off the pitch. He’s spent time in the company of world-class players and learned from them. He’s become an integral member of the Germany team.”
