Rafael Van der Vart insists that a move to the Bundesliga for his compatriot Donny Van de Beek is perfect but rejecting Real Madrid would be difficult.
If anyone understands the decisions Donny Van de Beek has to make about his future it’s compatriot Rafael Van der Vart.
Like Van de Beek he too was the golden boy of an Ajax midfield. He eventually made the move to the Bundesliga with Hamburg where he was the star of the show.
Van der Vart’s performances in the Bundesliga led to attention and an eventual move to La Liga and of course Real Madrid.
However, his time at the Santiago Bernabeu was short-lived and after only two seasons he was off-loaded to Tottenham.
Speaking to Dutch outlet Trouw, he said:
“In my opinion, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund would be great clubs for him.”
“If Real knocks, what should you wait for? If the club really wants you, it will get you too.”
“Many people advise Van de Beek to stay with Ajax for another year and play a good European Championship with the national team.”
“None of them understand how difficult it is to turn down a club like Real Madrid.”
Will Donny Van de Beek be one of the chosen few who arrive at Real Madrid this summer?
