The battle to take control of the Bundesliga ended in a scoreless draw between Lewandowski’s Bayern Munich and Timo Werner’s RB Leipzig.
It was the opportunity for Bayern to open up a four-point gap or for Leipzig to take a two lead at the top of the Bundesliga.
It was, however, not a night for celebration for neither side as they played out a nil-nil draw. The result saw things remain unchanged with Bayern in first and Leipzig in second separated by a point.
The clash saw two of the leagues leading marksmen go head to head.
Unfortunately, neither of them had their shooting boots on tonight. With the already impressive stats remaining unchanged.
Werner should have scored, only to shoot wide. While Lewandowski had a shot cleared off the line.
The Polish international also had a penalty claim overturned by VAR after being tripped inside the 18-yard box too.
The only team really affected by this result, was Borussia Dortmund. Following their loss to Bayer Leverkusen, they saw both the top two stretch their lead by another point.
