The team’s captain wants Parker to lead the Cottagers in the English Championship back to the Premier League next season.

Manager Scott Parker replaced Claudio Ranieri as Fulham boss just before the team was relegated from the English Premier League to the Championship.

And even after failing to keep the team in the top-flight, Parker is being asked by the team’s captain Tom Cairney to stay.

“I’ve said for a long time that I think Scott has done an incredible job and, in my eyes, I think he is the right man for the job,” his words were echoed by The Irish Examiner.

“The way he has got us playing in such a short space of time, in the hardest league in the world, is a credit to him. I believe he is the man to take us forward so we’ll see.”

He added: “Not just for me, as a club ahead of what’s going to be a massive year, we need to have a clear idea of what way we are going to go.”

“We’re seven days away from ending the season and a lot of planning needs to go into next year. I’m sure it’ll come in due course.”

Fulham will finish in the 19th position of the Premier League table with 26 points.

The team has only won seven times, drawing five times and losing in 25 games.

Their last EPL match will be next Sunday, as they host Newcastle United to say goodbye to England’s top flight for at least one year.
