Fabio Capello believes Gareth Bale is an excellent footballer, but his current plight is down to a lack of focus on football.
Gareth Bale has made a lot of headlines this past year. Unfortunately for the Wales international most of them have been for the wrong reason.
From trying to force a move out of Real Madrid, to playing golf when he was “unavailable” to play for his team.
The club versus country row. Bale was out injured for hos club, then miraculously fit again when Ruan Giggs called him up to the Wales squad.
Bale continues to be nothing more than a bit-part player for Los Blancos and Zinedine Zidane. His form has been indifferent at best.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, former Real Madrid boss Fabio Capello has weighed in on the argument.
“My impression is that football is not his priority anymore.”
“Bale looks to me that he is distracted.”
“I like him a lot as a player, and the qualities he has are excellent for modern football.”
“But if you want to be a champion today, you have to be 100% attentive with your sporting life.”
There is no doubting Bales’s potential and ability.
However, his commitment to the club and even to football has been questioned on many occasions.
Just think when was the last time you saw Messi or Ronaldo put something before football.
I believe the answer is never!
