Capello makes Milan-Juve prediction, expects more from Ronaldo

Former Juventus manager Fabio Capello has made his predictions for the club’s league game against AC Milan on Sunday, tipping Cristiano Ronaldo to lead the Turin side to victory.

The Italian champions make the trip to the San Siro having won ten of their 11 games in the Italian Serie A. The Bianconeri sit just three points clear of Napoli but have a game in hand to their closest challengers.

Massimiliano Allegri’s sure suffered their first defeat of the season in midweek, letting a 1-0 lead slip to Manchester United in the UEFA Champions League.

Milan are currently fourth in Serie A, ten points behind defending champions, Juventus, having lost twice in the league this season.

And Capello, who coached both teams during his illustrious managerial career, believes Ronaldo will impress with the Old Lady favourites for the win.

“I expect great things from the most anxiously-awaited player: Cristiano Ronaldo,” Capello told TuttoJuve.

“Despite that defeat, Juventus arrive at San Siro in great shape and I don’t see any particular problems within Max Allegri’s team.”

Report: Milan grind out a 1-0 win against Verona

AC Milan able to grind out a 1-0 victory over Hellas Verona thanks to another Piatek goal. Marco Giampaolo's men were away to Hellas Verona...

“It’s going to be an interesting game in so many ways. The Bianconeri have had a few more days to rest and are the favourites for the victory.”

“Milan have some players who can cause problems for Juve, in particular Suso and Gonzalo Higuain if he recovers in time.”

“However, the biggest issue is not how much pressure Milan could put on Juventus, but rather Juve’s own concentration levels at San Siro.”

Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo believes the team’s loss to Manchester United may help them in the long run.

“It’s never nice to lose, but maybe this defeat comes at the best possible time,” Ronaldo said.

“We have a great team, we’re top of the group and I’m sure we’ll go through as group winners.”
