Carragher slaps Mustafi’s performances

According to the former English Premier League player, the Arsenal defender doesn’t deserve to have been bought by £35 million.

Germany footballer Shkodran Mustafi joined English Premier League side Arsenal for £35 million.

But according to former EPL footballer Jamie Carragher, the player doesn’t deserve to be with the Reds.

“I wasn’t surprised by this [Mustafi] – he’s been a mess since he joined the club really and this is another example of it,” he told Metro.

“He’s at fault for the second goal as well. [Unai] Emery made changes and I can totally understand it.”

Solskjaer: I don’t need assurances over my Man United future

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's focus is on carrying out his long-term plan at Manchester United rather than seeking out assurances over his future.

“Something has to give in the squad. In terms of the firepower in the team you still expected them to win,” he continued.

“I think it’s a massive blow for Arsenal’s top-four chances,” he concluded.

Mustafi’s professional career started in 2009 with Everton, where he only played once. He was transferred to Sampdoria in 2012, and then Valencia in 2014.

In 2016 he joined Arsenal where he has enjoyed his best spell, but he’s not performing at the level people expect from him.
