Despite the heart attack he suffered only two months ago, Iker Casillas reported to duty for FC Porto’s pre-season on Monday morning.
Iker Casillas’ heart attack scare was one of the most concerning news we received this year, he just reported back to training duty with FC Porto on Monday.
The Spanish goalkeeper was allegedly told by the doctors that he couldn’t play football again, something that the legend denied earlier in June.
During a training session with FC Porto in May, Casillas suffered an acute myocardial infarction that made him get rushed to the hospital.
There is no denying that Iker’s life was really in danger, the goalkeeper received several messages from the football world.
During this time of recovery, Casillas vowed to return to activity and he finally did on Monday.
The goalkeeper confirmed that he is not in any risk of suffering another episode of this nature, he’s been taking care of himself over the last couple of months.
There aren’t many players who experienced the level of success that Oker Casillas has throughout his career.
We are talking about a goalkeeper who won several Champions League titles with Real Madrid, he also won two European Championships and the FIFA World Cup with Spain.
Casillas played with Los Blancos during 16 years, he currently has the record of caps in the Champions League with 177 matches played.
Even though he was advised to rest for two months, Iker Casillas is still willing to risk his well-being in order to play football.
We will obviously keep you informed about anything that happens with the legendary goalkeeper.
The way in which we found out about Casillas going back to training was through a tweet that he posted himself.
The man took a picture of him arriving at FC Porto’s facilities like the rest of his teammates to report for duty.
