Former Real Madrid striker Antonio Cassano impresses during his debut for Virtus Entella during their friendly against local side against Rivarolese, according to Football Italia.
The ex-Italian international provided three assists for his teammates in his 20 minutes cameo appearance for the Serie C side.
Gennaro Volpe’s side were previously unsure of which Italian division they’ll be competing in despite suffering relegation from Serie B at the end of last season, but with Cesena, Bari and Avellino all suffering bankruptcy, Virtus expected to return back to Serie B but it seems they will be playing their football in the tier of Italian football.
Cassano has not technically signed for Virtus Entella yet, but started training with the team earlier this week.
The 36-year-old has been a free agent since January 2017, although he did sign for Hellas Verona in July 2017 only to leave two weeks into pre-season training.
The last time the former Inter Milan and AS Roma striker featured in a competitive match was at Sampdoria in May 2016 and has since announced his retirement from the sport of football on a number of occasions since then.
