Dynamo Kyiv’s youth academy coach, Ramon Catala, says he spoke to Ernesto Valverde and he explained how he had a very difficult time with the Blaugrana.
Last season Barcelona was only able to win the Spanish La Liga title.
The team failed to win the UEFA Champions League and the Copa del Rey tournament.
Which is why Ernesto Valverde had a lot of pressure, according to Dynamo Kyiv’s youth academy manager Ramon Catala.
“Valverde’s time at Barça has been tough,” he told Sport.
“I spoke with him last year and he was going through a hard time.”
He explained: “From the beginning the topic of identity was difficult and now he’s being questioned again and is suffering because of that.”
“Honestly, he’s such a relaxed man but I also see him a little worried.”
“Barça’s preseason has been complicated,” he said.
“I believe it’s more about marketing and less about the sporting side each time.”
“The team is finding it tough against sides who are fitter. You noticed this in Bilbao because it’s very difficult, despite the players he has, to form a team,” he concluded.
