The race to secure the Uruguayan’s services is between Manchester United and Chelsea, but his father wants him at Atletico Madrid.
There has been a lot of talk over the past few days about the possibility of Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani leaving Paris Saint-Germain in the summer.
Previously it was reported that Manchester United and Chelsea might be fighting to acquire his services, with Blues’ Frank Lampard going as far as saying to The Express: “You can’t say we will definitely sign a striker but we are looking.”
“If you don’t score enough goals then you won’t win enough games.”
But today Cavani’s father admitted, “he wants to leave because he needs to play.”
“I would like him to go to Atletico.”
Cavani previously played for Danubio, Palermo, Napoli, and since 2013, for Paris Saint-Germain.
His contract expires in the summer, as he is close to the 300-game mark with PSG, having scored 198 goals so far.
Would you like to see him play in La Liga in Spain or in the English Premier League?
