Dani Ceballos is determined to prove his worth to Zinedine Zidane in an attempt to make the grade when he returns to Real Madrid.
Real Madrid spent €18 million to secure the services of Dani Ceballos from Real Betis in the summer of 2017.
The presence of the likes of Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, and Isco made it very difficult for Ceballos to hold down a regular spot in the Real Madrid lineup.
Even as a backup player, he was unwanted by manager Zinedine Zidane and was eventually shipped off to Arsenal on a season-long loan deal at the start of this season.
The Spaniard made a blistering start to life in his new surroundings, earning the man of the match award in just his first start, but a hamstring injury in December halted his progress.
It remains unclear whether Arsenal will retain his services beyond this season. But it seems Ceballos already has his heart set on making a name for himself at the Santiago Bernabeu.
“I have not spoken to [Zinedine] Zidane, he is now focused on his players,” Ceballos told Spanish radio station Onda Cero.
“When my loan contract ends I will be a Real Madrid player again. My goal is to succeed there.”
