Ralf Rangnick has announced a strong starting lineup for Manchester United’s Champions League clash with Atletico Madrid.

Manchester United have named a strong starting lineup for their Champions League clash against Atletico Madrid.

When the pair clashed in the first leg, the tie finished 1-1. United have won three of their previous six away Champions League games, but drew the remaining three matches.

The Red Devils enter the second leg of the tie, hoping to book a spot in the quarter-final – for only the first time in 10 years.

Bruno Fernandes returns to the starting XI following a positive Covid-19 test that ruled him out of Saturday’s 3-2 win over Tottenham in the Premier League.

Scott McTominay returns to the squad but Luke Shaw continues to remain absent from the squad.

All eyes will be on Cristiano Ronaldo, who bounced back from his hip injury to score a hat-trick against Spurs over the weekend.

Manchester United XI: De Gea, Dalot, Varane, Maguire, Telles, McTominay, Fred, Fernandes, Elanga, Ronaldo, Sancho.

Subs: Heaton, Henderson, Bailly, Jones, Lindelof, Wan-Bissaka, Lingard, Mata, Matic, Pogba, Cavani, Rashford.

Meanwhile, Atletico have lost three of their last six away games in the Champions League, and have won just two while drawing one game.

Atletico Madrid XI: Oblak; Llorente, Savic, Gimenez, Reinildo, Lodi; Koke, Herrera, De Paul; Felix, Griezmann.

Subs: Lecomte, Christian, Felipe, Hermoso, Gonzalez, Ibra, Kondogbia, Serrano, Moreno, Carlos, Suarez, Correa.
