Champions League: Tottenham beat Real, while BVB struggled with APOEL

during the Premier League match between Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool at Wembley Stadium on October 22, 2017 in London, England.

The group of death? Not a big deal for the Spurs! They beat Real Madrid 3-1 at home and they are through, while Borussia Dortmund continues to underperform. Manchester City stay 100% and Liverpool remain top in the successful English evening.

The biggest match of the day took place at Wembley where Tottenham faced Real Madrid in a fight for the top spot in their group. It was an amazing performance by the English side as Dele Alli’s brace gave them a 2-0 half-time lead and it wasn’t all – Christian Eriksen added the third goal for the hosts and Real were able to score just once thanks to Ronaldo’s close-range shot.

It was a must-win match for Borussia Dortmund but the German side failed to beat APOEL Nicosia at home. Despite being 1-0 in front after Guerreiro’s strike, they conceded after the break and their chances to qualify are very low as they have to beat Real Madrid away from home.

Another outstanding match was played in Napoli where the home team faced Manchester City – and Pep Guardiola’s side are still 100% even after this fixture. The Italian side scored the first goal of the match thanks to Lorenzo Insigne but the Citizens turned it around after Otamendi and Stones found the net. But the game wasn’t over – Napoli equalized as Jorginho converted a penalty. The guests decided the match afterwards – Agüero and Sterling scored the decisive goals and Manchester City remain top. In the other match of this group, Shakhtar beat Feyenoord 3-1 at home after coming from behind.

And even the third English team were successful – Liverpool grabbed a 3-0 victory against Maribor after Salah, Can and Sturridge all scored second-half goals. Sevilla managed to beat Spartak Moscow 2-1 and they are in a good position with two matches to go.
