Chelsea are reportedly looking set to face competition from Paris Saint-Germain for the services of Luis Enrique at the end of the season
The Daily Star has reported that the former Barcelona coach is being heavily linked to both the Chelsea and PSG managerial posts with both clubs looking set to part ways with their respective managers at the end of the season.
Chelsea have endured a difficult title defense in this season’s Premier League and are now four points outside the top four places. Antonio Conte had a frustrating winter period at the club with an apparent lack of funds available to pursue reinforcements. The Italian had publicly called for the board to issue a statement of support, after the persistent rumours surrounding his future failed to go away. However, the club have still yet to issue any kind of statement.
PSG, on the other hand, are reportedly frustrated at their failure to win the Champions League for another season, after their exit at the hands of Real Madrid last week. Despite comfortably leading Ligue 1 by 14 points and having progressed to the semi-finals of the Coupe de France, Unai Emery is expected to leave the French capital at the end of the season.
While Chelsea are believed to have held a long-term interest in Enrique, it is believed that PSG now see the Spaniard as the ideal candidate to guide the club to that elusive Champions League crown.
