The Chelsea defender admitted Willian will be missed should he leave and compared him to former Blues star man Eden Hazard.
Chances of Willian leaving Chelsea this month grow by each passing day amid the club’s reluctance to offer him a three-year deal, which the winger claims he would sign in an instant.
The Blues’ Champions League encounter against Bayern Munich on Saturday could be Willian’s final game unless they overcome a 3-0 aggregate deficit to reach the quarter-finals.
Arsenal are understood to be favorites to sign the Brazilian amid ‘leaked footage’ showing him in a Gunners jersey on the new PES 2021 game.
Regardless of whatever happens, though, Antonio Rudiger knows he will be missed.
The German defender even recalled how Willian welcomed him to the dressing room upon arriving to the club in 2017.
“Since day one of coming to Chelsea, he and David Luiz got me into the team and helped me out in the first couple of months because it was not that easy,” said Rudiger, according to Goal.
“He is a great guy and a really, really good footballer. He is calm and humble and it will be sad if I don’t see him again as a team-mate. He is not the type of player who talks that much.”
“He does his thing on the pitch, just like Eden Hazard. By playing, he shows what he is about. He is a guy who dictates the game and not many players in the world have this type of quality.”
“He is always training [hard] and practicing free-kicks after. He is someone who always wants to improve.”
