Javier Hernandez broke to tears talking about his retirement to his family over a video call.
As most players in the later stages of their career do, 31-year old Javier Hernandez recently signed a three-year contract with LA Galaxy to complete his move to the Major League Soccer.
Often labeled as the ‘retirement league’, the MLS is seen as a place where high profile players nearing the twilight of their careers go. Wayne Rooney, David Beckham, Steven Gerrard, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, to name a few.
After completing his move to LA Galaxy, Chicharito burst out in tears realizing that he was nearing his retirement from football.
Speaking to his parents on a video call, Hernandez felt that he was letting down his parents to quit Europe for the US side. Chicharito said:
“We are retiring from the European Dream, and it’s hard, and my dad will understand, and I’m just living it because I’m happy. It’s what I want, It’s not that I couldn’t do it. It’s just saying goodbye to this beautiful experience. And it’s a part of me that’s no longer gonna be there. And also, this is another dream. It’s different of course.”
