The now-Valencia goalkeeper is ready to return to life as a first-choice stopper after spending his Barcelona career in Marc-Andre ter Stegen’s shadow.
When you play for one of the best team’s in the world, everything should be perfect.
But for goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen, this meant being in the shadow of Marc-Andre ter Stegen for a long time.
Now he’s ready to live life as the first-choice stopper for Valencia in the Spanish La Liga.
“I’m motivated, I want to play for Valencia,” Cillessen was quoted by Marca today.
“I want to play league matches, Champions League matches, everything.”
“I’ve been at Barcelona for a few years, but I was desperate to play,” he explained.
“This is a club with a great history.”
He explained his motivation: “Now I’m 30 years old, after three years on the bench I want to play.”
“I’m also ready to play for the Netherlands again. I spoke with the coach, I’m here to play, that’s my motivation.”
