Former Manchester City boss Sven Goran Eriksson thinks Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling have the potential to make the move and play for Real Madrid.

Manchester City duo Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling are undoubtedly two of the main stars of the show at the club.

The pair are not only in formidable form this season, but have statistically led their team for the last five seasons.

With the club now facing a possible two-year ban from the Champions League, the player’s future has now been brought into question.

Speaking to Stats Perform News the former City boss Sven Goran Eriksson insists there is nothing stopping the pair from playing for a club of the caliber of Real Madrid.

However, he would be disappointed to see the pair leave his old club.

He said:

“Well, they will play for Real Madrid if they want to do it, but I would be disappointed.”

“I really hope they stay in England. When you look at it so far, and for many years now, the Premier League is the best league in the world.”

“No doubts about that, the most popular, and the best league to see.”

“Other leagues are good, but how many people are looking at Spanish football if it’s not Barcelona or Real Madrid, maybe Atletico Madrid? I don’t think many.”

“Bundesliga, it’s a little bit the same if Borussia Dortmund’s not playing, if Bayern Munich is not playing, are you sitting looking at it?”

“In England, it’s different because any team can beat any other team. It’s good football and it’s always a fight, a good fight in England.”

At 28 years of age, De Bruyne seems the most likely fo the two to leave City. Real Madrid are no the only potential suitors for the Belgian international.
