Leicester City manager Claude Puel has given update on the fitness of Ben Chilwell and Jamie Vardy ahead of Tuesday’s Carabao Cup clash.
Chilwell missed Saturday’s Premier League clash against Crystal Palace due to a knee problem and will not feature in the quarter-final tie league Cup tie against Manchester City.
Leicester will also assess if Jamie Vardy will be available for selection after he returned to action during the Foxes 1-0 loss to Palace on Saturday following a groin problem.
“New injuries, no,” confirmed manager Puel, according to the club’s official website.
“[Ben] Chilwell is not match fit and not available for this game. He is still not available.”
“After [Daniel] Amartey, of course, we will see if Jamie [Vardy] needs a rest between games because it was his first game after injury.”
Puel also confirmed Harry Maguire is fir after he picked up a knock on against Palace early on in the game, before completing his first 90 minutes in nearly two months.
Meanwhile, Jonny Evans is suspended for the game against Pep Guardiola’s side after picking up bookings against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Southampton in the previous rounds.
“I think Harry [Maguire] is okay [after Crystal Palace],” added Puel. “Also, [Jonny] Evans is suspended.”
