Unai Emery has decided to include 19-year-old summer signing Matteo Guendouzi in his starting eleven against champions Manchester City in his first game in charge of Arsenal
Guendouzi, who joined Arsenal for £8million this summer, had been one of the brightest stars of Arsenal’s pre-season and is preferred to Lucas Torreira at the base of the Arsenal’s midfield, where he plays alongside Granit Xhaka and Aaron Ramsey.
Emery’s decision to name Petr Cech in goal may give an indication as to who he views as the starting number one at the Emirates, with new addition Bernd Leno on the bench.
Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola has gone with a familiar line-up, with Riyad Mahrez the only new face in the team after signing from Leicester City this summer.
